Epilog

The trip was a great success! The weather was not especially cooperative as far as sailing went. I really wish I could have sailed more than I did. However I was able to sail the Hudson a bit more than I expected, and the 6th day in Long Island Sound, into the night, was one of the best sailing experiences I've ever had. A true joy.

The old Nonotuck did good service. The most outstanding quality of this old boat is the shallow draft enabling me to always find an anchorage in even the most crowded harbor. I never used marina facilities or slips during the trip, which also saved money. The trip cost me very little in cash, as I bought all my food at the local supermarket before launching. Fuel and oil were the sole costs of the trip.

I would not recommend anyone attempt such a cruise without proper charts and cruising guides are an important source of travel information. The following are a set of recommended information and navigation resources used for this cruise.
